New Status Updates!

Now for these updates we may need to add a personal comment: when you start engaging in internet activities too much, you slowly start to lose contact with reality. But in the case of this dark prince social networking is equal to artistic death.

Judging by yesterday´s mood, things are becoming a tad boring for Manson. How ´bout something amusing then? Funny videos!

This is one of many of Manson´s appearances from 2007 on the Graham Norton Show. (check out Rihanna!)  Horribly funny, enjoy!

New Status Update!

oooohh....those words sound dangerous...better run, kinky thoughts come to mind.

Please Vote!

Should Chris Vrenna make the score for the new "Alice: Madness Returns" videogame? It won´t come out until 2011, but there´s still time...

About The Black Period...

Not that we´re assuming anything, but according to my Art classes The Black Period was also associated to Pablo Picasso´s, also known as African or Negro, for his love of African art, which can be seen in his inconic painting "Les Desmoiselles D´Avignon"; a nude piece, where if you notice one of the girl´s faces is painted black and in a sort of elongated manner.

Then I immediately compared it to this recent Manson painting:

an untitled portrait of  Naveen Andrews, from
the Black Period?
Might be just a coincidence, both in our most humble opinion it could be an exploration of a new style. Of course, Picasso was always eager to find new and innovative ways to paint. Maybe we´ll see in the near future more abstract painitings by Manson?

More Paintings I Found Lurking...

At the same time that Manson is planning to include new band members.

What we don´t get is that these recent paintings are making an alusion to possible members: Naveen Andrews, Fred Sablan...is this artwork probably going to be featured in the booklet? That´d be an awesome idea, pretty much like it was done in Lest We Forget with several watercolors, like Experience Is The Mistress Of Fools.

New Status Update!

And to show that we matched Manson´s mood we also changed our look...let the bleeding begin! And by that we mean a cascade of MM-related events.

New Status Update!

5 pm, that´s the hour someone usually gets off from work.

In a rather sarcastic mood, Manson uploaded these two paintings of Naveen in his "black period." I guess that puts an end to the Blue Period...

Ever wanted to know who were the guys responsible for the stunning album covers of Marilyn Manson?

The name might not ring a bell, but Bau-da Design Lab has been credited for the premiere designers for the three major albums that sky-rocketed Manson´s musical career.

They have worked for numerous rock bands of the trade including Slipknot, Otep, Godsmack, Disturbed, The Used and many more.

American Mc Gee´s Alice Big Comeback...

One of our favorite, most twisted PC games of all time, American Mc Gee´s Alice is set to make a spectacular comeback in 2011 with Alice: Madness Returns; the game developer is Spicy Horse and EA is the publisher.

The first look an trailer are already available on the official EA website:

WATCH HERE!

A sample of the story:

Eleven years ago a horrific fire took Alice’s family from her and left her terribly burned—and her mind terribly scarred. Afterwards she was confined to Rutledge Asylum, struggling to come to terms with her demons by slipping into her fantasy world of Wonderland. Now, after ten years, she has finally secured her release--yet she still bears the heavy psychological burden of that tragic event.

In Alice: Madness Returns, Alice is released from the asylum to a London psychiatrist’s care. As nightmarish hallucinations continue to haunt her and invade her reality, she seeks to understand her torment in order to recover herself. Her mind in tatters, she is unable to resolve the fear and neuroses prompted by her strange memories, dreams, and visions. Her relocation to London seems only to add to their number and intensity.

Perhaps she’ll do better in Wonderland. She always has. She travels there, seeking what the “real” world can’t provide: security, knowledge, and the truth about the past. But in her absence, Wonderland too has suffered. Something has gone horribly wrong, and now a great evil is descending upon what once was her beautiful refuge.

Can Alice save Wonderland—and herself—from the madness that consumes them both?

As you might remember, the soundtrack of the game released in late 2000 was done in great part by our very own Chris Vrenna, who is currently in Marilyn Manson, but it was also rumored for a long time that Manson participated in a piece of music for the game, thus the interest on Alice carried on in 2005 with the long awaited production of Phantasmagoria: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll.

Videogame site G4 got a chance to chat with the creators of Alice, American Mc Gee and R.J. Berg, and they mentioned briefly Manson and Vrenna´s collaboration for the soundtrack:

I think the first trailer for the first game said, ‘toys become weapons…friends become foes.’ What were the real life inspirations for that?

AM: For me, I came out of the world of Doom and Quake. I had spent time out running around with Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. Manson had some involvement in an early piece of music for the first Alice game. And at the time even in San Francisco, people were very much, I guess you could say, living on the edge. It was like the Sixties, but in a sense a revival of that in the dot com days with people going out and exploring. And Burning Man had just started to take off. We were taking inspiration from all of that -- the moment in San Francisco and the past that I’d had in Texas with id Software. And then of course a big part of it came from my childhood. So which names will be unravelled for the new sound of this classic from the era of the CD-ROM? We´ll have to wait. Still, Vrenna´s participation was unbelievable. If you haven´t heard the score here´s a sample:
