A Gruesome Threesome...

EAT ME, DRINK ME...

...the legendary words Alice saw on the labels before she ever decided to enter the mysterious and whimsical Wonderland. Sometimes she wasn´t big enough or small enough to fit, but yes bold enough to carry on with the rest of her journey...

...this echoes in the lyrics of Marilyn Manson´s studio album from 2007. As if the once feared and revered Antichrist Superstar had descended into the rabbit hole to share his deepest thoughts like never before.

A weary vampire who consumed and was consumed by the media, the violent cultural events and angry parents, intelectuals and politicians, and of course by the many followers.

Where does this all lead anyway? Every artist suffers and reaches rock bottom. And it is in this place where things are reborn, for the lesson is to walk away from those toxic relationships who are the least positive. Or else we are truly dead.

In the words of Alejandro Jodorowsky in his book "Manual de Psicomagia" writes on account of "vampiric friendships":

Amistad es crear algo positivo juntos, no matar el tiempo juntos. (Friendship is trying to create something positive together, not kill time together).

MM´s sixth studio album, released June 5th, 2007.
Because goth culture is inevitably surrounded by an aura of decadence one can´t help thinking that it´s something that could easily fade away, if it were a trend. But it´s actually much more than that; a modern philosophy that keeps attracting both young and old, thus everyone is welcome, as much as they are welcome to listen to Manson´s albums.

This month we make our best effort to amalgamate three topics that apparently have nothing in common: Alice In Wonderland, Marilyn Manson and vampires, all because of one of the most clever album titles: EAT ME, DRINK ME.

A little warm up to get you in the mood...
