Find The Real Treasure...

You still think that 6:19 are beautiful numbers for Marilyn Manson? Look what we found.

With all due respect to Catholics we extracted a passage from the Bible, specially the Gospel according to Matthew 6:19 which reads:

Treasures in Heaven

(Luke 12. 32-34)

6:19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not steal.

6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Here, from our point of view is a deep reflection that relates in part to the accumulation of material goods. In this era of high consumerism and cult of the object its's well worth thinking about these words, as we won't keep anything when we are dead. That is, what we have inside, what makes us special is the real treasure and also transcends, and will be present both on Earth and in Heaven.

In the case of what we have seen of the work and life of Manson it could apply to his music, his words and visual art, and maybe something more ....could these be the real treasures and not collectibles and all other paraphernalia?

There are fans who feel one step further accumulating more things than others, when in fact there are non-material things that sometimes do not see, we only see what we need. And when that treasure is revealed to us it's becoming more difficult to assimilate.

A Pink Floyd song that can compare to this reflection is "Money" from "The Dark Side of the Moon" where the phrase
"Money, So They Say, is a root of all evil today"

is paraphrasing the New Testament, I Timothy 6:10,
"because the root of all evil is the love of money, which while some coveted after, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs ."

This is just a personal reflection, which treasures has he left you?

Visual Parallels: Marilyn Manson and Madonna

ell yes, both have stage names that start with "M" but that's not the only visual coincidence.

Recently, this photo appeared in 2010 for the cover of Interview magazine in which Madonna is shown with a red cross in front of her face. Remember a few years ago the singer turned to Kabbalah? (Jewish mystical teachings), but she still can't deny her Catholic roots, as showed in the eighties with the controversial video "Like A Prayer."

Immediately I recalled the image of the cover of Marilyn Manson's single "Personal Jesus" released in 2004 around the era of Lest We Forget.

The art is also suspiciously similar to Madonna's, since it focuses on the theme of Jesus, there are symbols and a thick red cross on a black and white background.

Copy cat or coincidence? What do you think?
